A total of 37 members of the Shared Growth Council and this year's ESG and other performance reviews.
Establishing more challenging goals for ESG in 2023 and establishing interest support programs for outstanding member companies

 

[FETV = Reporter Park Je-sung] SK Materials Co., Ltd., a material technology company, announced on the 18th that it held a meeting of the 2022 Shared Growth Council in Gran Seoul, Jongno-gu, Seoul, with members of the Shared Growth Council.

The Shared Growth Council was launched in 2020 to enhance mutual competitiveness between the company and its partners by supporting them in various fields such as education, business management, and recruitment, and deriving and implementing various tasks for ESG improvement. The council consists of a total of 37 partners affiliated with SK Corp., including SK Specialty, SK Materials Airplus, SK Materials Performance, and SK Trichem. 

 

The meeting was organized as a place to share next year's plans by reviewing the results of the 2022 Shared Growth Council. It will review the ESG diagnosis process of partner companies using IT platforms and the introduction of ESG consulting linked to external specialized institutions. It also shed light on efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, water, and waste through the newly established ECO Subcommittee. In addition, we had time to check various activities in each field, such as management support, SHE (social, health, environment), and quality matching each member company type.


In the 2023 Joint Growth Council operation target announcement, ▲ ESG diagnosis target was expanded to more partners ▲ Supply chain greenhouse gas emission management system strengthened ▲ Minerals, human rights, etc. To motivate the performance of such challenging goals, an ESG win-win loan program has been established to support interest of up to 2% within the loan limit of 1 billion won for member companies with excellent ESG diagnosis results.

 

At the best member company awards ceremony, Cheil E&S and AETHER CT were selected as winners in consideration of ESG diagnosis and participation in improvement in 2022, contribution to establishing a shared growth culture, and cooperation in environmental tasks such as greenhouse gas reduction.

 

Kim Chi-yeon, CEO of Cheil E&S, said, "We thank SK Specialty officials for giving us an honorable award. We will continue to make efforts to establish a win-win culture that pursues value together without forgetting the important nature of shared growth."

Yu Shin, head of SK Specialty's management support office, said, "This year, we have been able to expand the scope of supply chain cooperation, establish ESG diagnosis and improvement systems, and strengthen environmental activities."
